We all want our hair to be well managed, have a good shine and frizz free. So normally all we do to set a hairstyle is to apply hair spray. It not only holds and lock our hairstyle but also provides shine and manageable hair. But knowingly that hair spray contains chemicals that may damage our hair, but we apply it, as we don’t have any option. The chemicals not only weakens our hair strand but also makes it texture dry and dull.

So, to have your hair look good without any chemicals we have got you some easy DIY hair sprays that you could make at home and apply without damaging your hair.

1. SUGAR HAIR SPRAY

Sugar adds shine to your dull looking hair and have the property to hold the hair. Sugar hair sprays are infused with sugar cane extract, which gives hair fullness, texture and glossiness. Also they won’t strip your hair’s moisture and doesn’t give you side effect of dry hair.

Ingredients-

  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 cup filtered water
  • 2 drops lavender oil (optional)

Preparation:

  1. Heat water in a pan, add sugar to it and stir until the sugar is dissolved.
    (Adjust sugar amount for the kind of hold you desire)
  2. Let it cool down, add lavender oil.
  3. Pour in a spray bottle. Shake well before use.
  4. Discard after 1-2 months.     

2. LEMON HAIR SPRAY

The potential uses of lemon may go beyond flavoring our dishes or benefiting our health. Lemon juice have the potency to naturally lighten our hair and creating shinier hair. Lemon being acidic in nature, adding baking soda to it is a great way to counter acidity, which helps in maintaining the pH of your scalp.

Lemon adds the lost shine and gloss to our hair making them look silky and shiny.

Ingredients-

  • 1 lemon
  • 2 cup filtered water
  • 1 Tsp baking soda
  • 2 drops rosemary essential oil (optional)

Preparation:

  1. Pour water in a sauce pan, squeeze the lemon juice in it and also add the lemon slices in the pan.
  2. Bring it to a boil till half of the water is evaporated.
  3. Allow it to cool and then strain and store in a spray bottle.
  4. Shake well before use. Refill after 2 weeks.

3. ALOE HAIR SPRAY

The multi beneficial Aloe Vera can be used in a simple recipe to form a hair spray. It is a natural detangler, and is not at all oily. It has various benefits to hair like promoting hair growth, gives natural conditioning to hair (similar to keratin chemically), maintains hair and scalp natural pH level and also repairs damaged hair.

Aloe contains properties that soften hair and combat frizz, it makes our hair look shiny and sleek.

Ingredients-

  • 1/3 cup whole leaf aloe Vera
  • 2/3 cup filtered water
  • 2 drops bergamot essential oil.(optional)

Preparation:

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a large measuring cup or a small bowl. Mix wll.
  2. Pour into a spray bottle. Shake well before use.
  3. Apply on wet hair. Discard after 1-2 months.

4. ROSE WATER HAIR SPRAY

Rose water as we all know, an enticing natural product with hundreds of benefits, has been said to stabilize hair’s pH balance, it can also aid in repairing hair’s damaged porosity.It acts as anti inflammatory and with it’s natural antiseptic properties, it can reduce dandruff.

Apart from removing Fungal infections due to it’s anti bacterial properties, rose water also adds shine to your hair.

Ingredients-

  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 cup rose water

Preparation:

  1. Gently warm rose water in a sauce pan.
  2. Add sugar and stir until dissolved. Allow it to cool down.
  3. Pour in a spray bottle. Shake well before use.
  4. Discard after 1-2 months.
